My name is Shane and I live in Margate on the Kwa Zulu Natal , South Coast of South Africa.

Besides being a total fishaholic -

We love nothing more than having friends come and stay for the weekend and taking my friends fishing.

Then having a braai and a few beers right there on the beach, or at my place.

About Margate

Our small seaside town is a contradiction in that it is a very relaxed and peaceful town, but we are also one of the countries favourite holiday destination and when holiday season hits, we are abuzz of excitement and activity.

Margate is the gateway to all the very special little towns and communities that dot their way down the Wild Coast, which is famous for unspoilt beaches, unpolluted seas and many memorable holidays for South Africans for over 100 years.

ShanesFishing.co.za is a blog  of my  day-to-day life as I fish till I drop and suck up enjoyment in every moment that I am alive.

I have spent my life in the hospitality industry and have worked as a waiter, a barman, a restaurant manager, catering manager for SAB and a chef .

I have had the lifelong dream of opening a small guest house, so I have decided to combine my three great loves.

Fishing, Cooking and Good Times.
