I went down to Orange Rocks for a quick throw this morning, too late for the action…. again. I really have to get my car back, it is driving me mad not having my own transport.
Hopefully it will all be worth it and my car will come back looking like new – hopefully by Friday.
Anyway.
By the time I got there it was too late for me to put a live bait so I just slid a massive anchovy oil soaked, bleeding mackerel.
I had something pick me up and bring my bait right in, but unfortunately whatever it was did not swallow the bait – so I came home empty handed.
There was one Garrick caught off the right hand side of the rocks, which is unusual. It weighed 9kg and was caught by a guy nicknamed “Bollie”, who was using a Daiwa Grandwave 50 and the bait was a live shad.
I appeal to all those who visit Orange Rocks to please keep it clean. I saw guys packing up and just throwing their empty plastic packets and boxes on the floor. Disgusting behaviour, especially more since there was a bin 2 meters away.
Tight Lines to you all.
Good day,
My dad (turning 81 on 23/9/2010) caught a Garrick two weeks ago at Umtentweni weighing 6 and half kilo’s
