Multiplier Overwind

So the SW was blowing this morning so I packed one bait and went to Orange Rocks, with high hopes.

There was lots of weed in the water, but I managed to get my bait out with no problems.

Then Bradley from Gremlins landed a small grey and we all got excited as it appeared that the fish had come back on the bite.

He had to go off to work, so he gave me a nice frozen Bonnny which I rigged up.

All good up to here……

First throw was about 120m, but I wanted to get further over the sand – because the tide was going out, there was lots of sand and the weed would have pulled my grapnel out.

So I attempt another throw and I really push it.

BANG……..

This was the result….LOL

It happened in a flash, I did not stand a chance.

With almost brand new Double X line (sob sob)

So off I went and there was not enough time to get another reel and go back….

WORK SUX … I wish that I could fish all day long !!

  2. Shane says:

Lol… Ja, it does not happen often. First big one in three years or so.

  3. Darth vader says:

The thing is with overwinds..they happen when, conditions are great, your chommie is moering the fish next to you and some clever dick starts chuckling under his breath a few meters away and..he only fishes once a year!!!…By the way Shane, great site…if you like I will leave updates now and then from my side of the world….

Howzit bro. That would be great. Yea, this particular one happened because I was trying to get too clever. Casting into the wind. My first shot was fine, but I wanted to try and put it a bit further as there was alot of sand in the water. It was going fine, until it his a gust of wind and within 1 second…..crows nest of note. I had to cut that line off. Almost brand new Double X….

    Keep well, brother !!
